It’s a new year, and there are many new and wonderful happenings along 30A; Seaside’s post office is relocating, new restaurants are taking up residence on our iconic stretch of the coast, and new communities are popping up—among others. Read on to find out what new beginnings and new ventures are adding to the daily buzz on 30A.
The Iconic Seaside Post Office Gets a New Location
Originally located at the Seaside Amphitheater, the iconic Seaside Post Office is getting new digs. The new Post Office Plaza will be located on the southern end of Seaside Avenue and is the first part of the new Krier Tower. The plaza, which is landscaped with 22 Medjool palm trees, will also house seven new public restrooms and more bike parking. The plaza is part of Seaside founders, Robert and Daryl Davis’ vision.
Black Bear Bread Co. Finds a Home in the Shops of Grayton
At Black Bear Bread Co., you’ll come for the freshly-baked naturally leavened bread, but you’ll stay for the coffee and the seasonable fare, which you can grab and go or enjoy in the bakery. Located at 26 Logan Lane, Unit G, in a charming white cottage, Black Bear Bread Co. (BBBC) is already a local favorite.
Shunk Gulley Oyster Bar is Classic Coastal Cuisine with Coastal Views
If you love panoramic views and fresh Gulf seafood, then the Shunk Gulley Oyster Bar is going to be your new favorite place to go for a good drink and a great meal. The recently-opened restaurant is located next to Gulf Place Town Center at Hwy 30A & 393 in Santa Rosa Beach. Named after the Gulf of Mexico’s legendary “shunk gulley” fishing reef, the hotspot features 40 feet of panoramic Gulf views. The full-service beach bar and restaurant is adjacent to the Shunk Gulley Liquor & Wine store, a great place to stop in before or after dining in, or just to grab some adult beverages for later.
Pizza by the Sea Gets a New Location in Seacrest
Local family favorite Pizza by the Sea added a new location in the Villages of South Walton in Seacrest, so now you can get unique, delicious pies and other savories in Seacrest as well as Gulf Place and Watercolor. This new move gets all of the “yums” up.
WaterSound Beach Club & Fish Out of Water are Getting Facelifts
While we’ll certainly miss having access to the Forbes Travel Guide four-star rated Fish Out of Water until spring 2018, the hiatus will be well worth it as they’re undergoing a “significant renovation”.
Meanwhile, expect the WaterSound Beach Club’s updates to take a little longer (but they’ll be well worth it) as the finished experience will include two additional pools, a restaurant with indoor / outdoor seating, a bar area with cabana seating on the upper deck, and much more space to live luxuriously. With so much to look forward to, we will gladly pardon the progress.
The New Grace Point Community is 30A Living at Its Finest
Boutique beach community Grace Point is 30A’s newest residential spot devoted to fine living and to living life to the fullest. Nestled between the WaterSound Beach Club and the WaterSound Beach community, Grace Point is considered one of the country’s top beachside developments featuring 44 homes in an exquisitely unique natural environment.
Southside Slice Pizzeria is a New Piece of Rosemary Beach
Rosemary Beach’s newest addition is Southside Slice Pizzeria where you can get hand-crafted pizza by the slice or by the whole pie. One of the restaurant’s best features is the order online option…well, that and the beach-friendly wines by the can. Pinkies down; koozies on.
360 Blue Acquires St. Joe Club and Resorts’ Vacation Rental Program
In 2017, 360 Blue added over 235 homes to their portfolio. This acquisition places 360 Blue as having the largest collection of luxury vacation rental properties on the Emerald Coast. 360 Blue is excited about the transition and the promises in store for the new year.
